Chamber Filter Press: For efficient sludge dewatering

Following  Schlamm- und Prozesswasseraufbereitung, the chamber filter press is the final crucial step in an efficient treatment process. Our chamber filter presses dewater sludge into solid filter cakes and recover the maximum amount of process water.

Comec-Binder chamber filter presses make sludge dewatering highly efficient and sustainable:

  • Minimal residual moisture: Thanks to high pressing pressure, our systems achieve minimal residual moisture. The resulting filter cakes are solid and easy to handle.
  • Custom sizes: With capacities ranging from 3 to 33 t/h per press and a wide selection of different sizes, we offer a tailor-made solution for every need.
  • Fully automatic operation: From the filling process to the automatic discharge of the filter cakes, the system operates autonomously and requires minimal maintenance.
  • Everything from a single source: Binder+Co supplies customized machines along the entire process chain—from crushing and screening to sand processing and final sludge treatment.

Chamber filter press from COMEC-Binder: Our advantages

Our chamber filter presses are specifically designed for the dewatering of mineral slurries. Here is an overview of the advantages of our technology:

MAXIMUM DEWATERING

Production of solid filter cakes with minimal residual moisture and maximum recovery of clean process water.

HIGH THROUGHPUT

Depending on the model, our presses achieve capacities ranging from 3 to 33 t/h. We offer you the optimal configuration for your requirements.

FULLY AUTOMATIC PROCESS

From feeding to filter cake discharge, the press operates fully automatically.

Optional: Automatic filter cloth washing system.

COST-EFFECTIVE DESIGN

Easy maintenance and the press’s customization to your specific needs (30–150 plates; cake thickness of 25–35 mm) make the chamber filter press a profitable investment.

Chamber Filter Press: Function & Process

The chamber filter press operates on an automated, batch process in which residual water is squeezed out of the filter cake:

1. Mixing and Preparation

Before sludge dewatering begins in the chamber filter press, the sludge is homogenized. To improve the pressability of the material, hydrated lime can be added.

2. Pressing process

The prepared sludge is pressed into the gap between the plate packs via a pipe system. The plates of the chamber filter press are equipped with fine screen mats. These retain the solids while the clean water (filtrate) passes through the mats.

3. Water Recirculation

The effluent water is collected in a tank and returned directly to the cycle. The pumping process continues until maximum pressure is reached and the discharged water emerges completely clear. This ensures maximum recovery of clean process water.

4. Cake Discharge

As soon as the economically optimal fill level is reached, feeding is stopped. The plate packs move apart and the discharge of the now solid filter cake begins.

Applications of our chamber filter presses

Our chamber filter presses are used wherever the lowest possible residual moisture in the filter cake is required:

  • Primary raw materials industry: Treatment of mineral slurries from sand and gravel
  • Recycling industry: Processing of mineral slurries from construction waste and excavated soil

Everything from a single source: Our system solutions

Binder+Co covers the entire process chain: From crushing and screening technology through sand processing to final process water and sludge treatment, you receive a perfectly coordinated system. Since all components are designed as a single unit, you avoid interface losses and reduce your total costs.
