Process water treatment flowchart

1. Process water feed

First, the process water containing fine particles is fed into the clarifier. Depending on the system layout, the turbid water is fed either energy-efficiently by gravity or via a pump.

2. Sedimentation in the clarifier

Solid-liquid separation takes place in the clarifier. The flocculated sludge settles to the bottom and is discharged, while the clarified water is drawn off at the highest point of the clarifier.

3. Homogenization tank

The thick sludge from the clarifier is homogenized in a holding tank using an agitator. This uniform consistency ensures efficient dewatering in the final step.

4. Sludge Dewatering

The sludge is dewatered using a belt filter press or chamber filter press. The result is filter cake and clean water, which flows directly back into the production cycle.
