Plants for processing waste glass
Glass recycling
Our glass recycling machines offer innovative solutions for your applications. Technical excellence, safety, and quality are our top priorities:
Various highly specialized machines are used in glass recycling. Our glass recycling plants are adapted to the respective task at hand:
As a basis for efficient sorting of your waste glass, the feed material must first undergo several preparatory stages. With the BREEZER, for example, light plastics and dry organic matter are removed from the material stream. Overband magnets and induction separators, on the other hand, ensure the separation of iron and metals – these are extracted as by-products. In the roller crusher, whole bottles, bottle bottoms, and bottle necks are crushed for sorting, thereby also removing closures such as corks or screw caps from the glass.
The crushing and screening drum serves as an innovative replacement for manual pre-sorting (hand picking). In a single process step, whole bottles are crushed and, at the same time, contaminants such as plastic film, paper, cardboard, long pieces of wood, etc. are removed.
An important intermediate step in making the processing of glass cullet more efficient and ensuring the quality of the end product is the screening of the glass cullet into different grain sizes. Among other things, our proven BIVITEC screening machines are used here to ensure reliable screening of the cullet.
Another application of screening is the separation of long items such as cable ties, ballpoint pens, or wires using a so-called long item separator. The elongated items remain on the screen deck, while glass shards fall through a gap into a separate chute.
Depending on the material, waste glass can be actively dried: our DRYON fluidized bed dryers, for example, ensure efficient drying of organic impurities, which can then be easily extracted. Cyclone separators ensure the elimination of fine particles and dust from the drying process and the dust extraction points – this extends the service life of the systems and further optimizes the subsequent sorting process. And our conveyor chutes and conveyor belts reliably transport the feed material from machine to machine.
The CLARITY sorting machines represent the technological heart of our glass recycling plants. Its innovative three-way system simultaneously sorts by color and separates foreign materials: glass fragments are sorted by color, opaque contaminants such as ceramics, stones, or porcelain (KSP) and glass-like contaminants such as heat-resistant glass (glass ceramics) or lead glass are removed. The CLARTIY can detect and sort glass from a size of 1 mm and ensures the highest degree of purity in the end product.

CLARITY QC – the automated quality control system for our sorting plant – analyzes even large sample quantities quickly and accurately. By continuously monitoring important parameters such as grain size, impurity content, and color composition, deviations can be detected and corrected immediately. This leads to a significant increase in productivity and quality. As an early warning system, the analysis provides objective and consistent results, which enable targeted optimization of the plant through detailed data evaluation. Finally, the analysis reports generated serve as reliable proof of quality.
