Get your recycling material tested

Our Technical Center offers you the opportunity to test your recycling material under industrial conditions. This provides you with the most important information before you invest in new recycling plants:

  • Assurance of your quality targets
  • Recommendations on plant selection for your application
  • Estimate of investment costs and operating costs

How the testing of your recycling material works

Would you like to know whether your material can be optimally processed with our technology? An overview of our structured testing process:

1. Initial contact

When you first contact us, we need:

  • Photos or videos of your material
  • A description of your task

2. Material analysis

Together, we clarify:

  • Which material you want to process and which end products you want to obtain
  • Your product quality requirements

3. Test planning

Depending on the material and task, we select the appropriate procedure:

  • Direct pilot plant test with a correspondingly large amount of material
  • First small-scale test in the laboratory, then test in the technical centre

4. Laboratory test (if necessary)

For unknown materials, we carry out initial tests with a small amount of material and prepare a brief feasibility report.

5. Scheduling

We coordinate the date for conducting the tests and invite you to our technical center:

  • Approx. 4-6 weeks lead time

6. Conducting the material test

The test is carried out under industrial conditions with original machines and your material. On site, we can react flexibly to the test process together with you and adjust the settings as necessary. You can also take material samples with you for independent testing.

7. Discussion of the results

1-2 weeks after the material test, you will receive a detailed test report, which we will discuss together.

8. Individual plant concept

Based on the results, we develop a concept for your industrial application with concrete solution proposals as a basis for your investment decision.

What are the requirements for material testing?

To ensure that we can test your recycling material accurately and reliably, certain requirements must be met:

  • Definition of your task: Your request should be based on a specific project
  • Complete material description: We require a detailed description of your material, including information on possible variations in material composition.
  • Permissible import: Secondary raw materials must eligible for import and processing in Austria. For waste materials, we verify the applicable European Waste Code.
  • Materials: We can test nearly all bulk materials. Our product portfolio includes solutions for glass recycling, metal recycling and construction waste recycling. Material testing for industrial minerals or biomass is also possible. Hazardous substances such as radioactive materials or explosive substances are excluded.

The advantages of pilot plant trials

Imagine knowing beforehand exactly which machine is the perfect fit for your recycling material – hand how to achieve the product quality your’re aiming for. That’s exactly what our material testing makes possible.

  • Confidence for Your Project

You get solid, data-based insights to support your decision-making. We show you how to prepare your material in the best possible way and how to achieve optimal results.

  • Cost Transparency

You receive an initial estimate of your investment as well as expected operating costs such as electricity or compressed air. This gives you a reliable basis for budgeting.

  • Guaranteed Quality

We lay the groundwork for you to reach your quality targets and ensure smooth process performance.
During testing, we identify early on whether special components — such as cyclone seperators or water treatment — are necessary, and we provide valuable guidance on potential wear and maintenance points.

  • A Tailor-Made Plant Concept

We don’t just recommend suitable machine types. We develop well-thought-out machine combinations and design your system to fit your needs. Whether you require a flip flow screen, circular vibrating screen, or linear vibrating screen – we’ll help you choose the best technology for your application.

The Binder+Co technical center: Everything under one roof

We combine our entire process expertise with the appropriate screening machines, sorting machines, and fluid bed dryers in our technical center. This allows you to test several process steps in the same place.

The close cooperation between our development department and our technical center at the same location means short distances and thus fast, efficient solutions. After the tests, you will also receive a detailed and comprehensive evaluation from our own laboratory, including grain size, moisture, and material analyses (LOI and RFA analyses), which will provide you with a sound basis for your decision.

FAQs: Material testing and technical center

Thanks to our many years of experience, our extensive database, and our design programs, it is not always necessary to test every material—for example, for standard applications in the glass industry or for screening primary raw materials in a dry state. Nevertheless, many customers would like to see a trial run to convince themselves of our technology and Binder+Co. We are of course happy to make this possible!

Please allow approximately 4 to 6 weeks lead time. The exact time frame depends on our current workload and the steps you take as a customer, such as material procurement, shipping, and contractual arrangements.

You will usually receive the detailed report 1 to 2 weeks after the test has been carried out.

The cost of a test varies depending on the effort involved. We would be happy to put together a customized package tailored to your specific needs.

Yes, your presence is even welcome! Of course, we can also carry out the tests without you—our team has the necessary expertise and experience. However, it is even better if you are there yourself: you know your material best and can help us coordinate important details directly on site. This allows us to use new findings together and tailor the tests optimally to your needs.

No problem! If you can't be there in person, you will receive comprehensive documentation in the form of videos and photos of the test.

Yes, of course! After the test, you can receive small samples of the material. This allows you to check the quality yourself or have it analyzed by external partners if necessary.
