Consistent marketing brings success
Thanks to a programme of consistent marketing, Binder+Co processing technology met with success on both new and established markets during the early summer.
Jindal SW Steel Ltd., one of India's largest steel producers, is currently looking for ways to cut its manufacturing costs. For a long time, the company has relied on processing technology from Binder+Co AG. In the east Indian town of Raigarh, 14 BIVITEC screening machines have for many years been used to screen coal and iron ore for the purposes of steel production. Six Binder+Co drying lines are also in operation in the Toranagallu district of Bangalore, another of the steel giant's locations. An order worth Euro1.35 million was placed in June for three more drying lines to dry coal under the COREX procedure.
The dryer sold last year to Cipta Mortar Utama in Jakarta was commissioned in June to the full satisfaction of the customer. The new drying plant has facilitated energy cost savings of up to 30% compared to the technology formerly in use. The option of using three different types of fuel means that customers can run this plant on the most cost-effective energy available.
In Europe, a number of markets are looking extremely promising. Turnover of Euro1.3 million was generated in the UK and Ireland in the first half of 2006; in both Spain and Italy, sales stood at Euro 0.7 million. The first BIVITEC screening machine for limestone was delivered to Latvia in June. This contract has enabled Binder+Co to present impressive references for both screening and drying technology as it seeks to enter another Baltic market, Estonia.
Pioneering environmental technology from Binder+Co
Binder+Co's environmental technology department is performing well in the United Kingdom. A screening and organic separation system was sold to Day Aggregates, a new Binder+Co customer. The system enables a wide range of organic waste products, fibres, food constituents and plastics to be separated from fragments of waste glass in wet or dry state. General contractor on the project is DUO plc, a company active throughout the UK.
2006 is proving to be a productive year for all aspects of environmental technology. In June, a second large-scale plant commenced operation at Consol Glass in South Africa; contracts received from the USA, France and Italy will ensure a healthy level of capacity utilisation for this area.
Looking to the future, intense efforts are continuing to develop a new technology for separating special heat-resistant types of glass, one of the biggest challenges in waste glass processing. At the end of October, Binder+Co AG will showcase its expertise in light materials processing at ENTSORGA, the international trade fair for environmental technology taking place in Cologne. The company will also unveil the next generation of the CLARITY product range to a global audience. With sales of CLARITY running into the hundreds, the new design and completely new technology are sure to impress.
