At this year´s Styrian Expo „Energy“ in Weiz and Gleisdorf a lot of cultural events are about to take place.

In the center of interest of the event “Kunstluss/Flusskunst” is the Weiz-river in the center of the city of Weiz. Artists present their ideas to make the river a river of arts! The themes are water, energy, the city and the river and the artworks will be on presentation until the end of october.

One of the most amazing objects is the “U-Boot” (Submarine) by styrian artist Peter Knoll. In cooperation with Binder+Co a three meter model made of steel of a submarine was created. It shows the for this exhibition unique collaboration between art and industry.

In cold steel blue, the submarine is a symbol of the relation between the material steel and the energy-source water. Depending on how high the water is floating through the river the “U-Boot” (Submarine) is “swimming” or nearly completely diving.
