Organic separation

ORKA and BREEZER – Organic Material Separators

Organic contaminants such as fibrous materials like paper, foodstuff waste, rubber and hard plastics have a negative effect on the sorting process and on further processing like smelting and fine comminution.

Here, ORKA and BREEZER from Binder+Co can be deployed as efficient systems for separating light and hard materials from the material stream (glass). BREEZER separates dry light materials, such as paper and plastics, in the preliminary stage of glass processing in MRFs (complete recycling systems). BREEZER is based on parallel-flow wind sifting.

ORKA is deployed in the separation of wet and sticky materials both in the preliminary stage of optical sorting and before the glass recovery stage. Here, the already separated CSP contaminants are subjected to optical sorting a second time in order to counteract glass loss. ORKA is based on cross-flow wind sifting.
